This browser is the second-largest search engine in the world behind Google and the evolutionary outcome of Microsoft's improvements to its previous search engines: MSN Search, Windows Live Search, and Live Search. To create a distinct characteristic over its major competitors, Microsoft Bing Search focuses on providing more visual and intuitive search results. It spearheaded the image-heavy and more interactive outputs as an alternative to text-heavy search results.

Moving toward AI-powered search functionality

Microsoft Bing Search features enhanced image search capabilities, enabling users to refine results based on parameters, which include size, color, layout, persons depicted, and even image type. The platform also offers a unique search suggestion feature that recommends relevant queries that may be insightful for users. It also provides tailored search results for specific topics, such as health, sports, news, and travel, thanks to the implementation of specialized search boxes.

Because the platform believes the best search experiences should go beyond simple keyword matches and offer more detailed and intelligent insights, it incorporates an artificial intelligence-powered system on top of the conventional search process. Collaborating with the minds behind ChatGPT, the software wants to bring in a range of natural language processing and machine learning technologies to understand user queries better, thus, offering a better search experience.

In the recent public demo, however, it was discovered that the AI-enabled browser had a significant error margin in the accuracy of the information provided.

An intelligent concept with a handful of opportunities

While Microsoft Bing Search is committed to leading the way in intelligent web searching, it may seem premature to utilize the AI chatbot in its fledgling stage. Considering the high degree of inaccuracies in the information provided, research-driven activities may not benefit from the software's formative phase to a certain extent. Nonetheless, as is the case with all other technologic systems, it will surely be refined and perfected over time.
